SALTDNA

SaltDNA is a fast-growing cybersecurity company based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. SaltDNA showed a very high level of growth. 2017 was a record year for SaltDNA, and 2018 saw SaltDNA grow again, increasing sales, expanding operations and gaining customers on 6 continents. SaltDNA is once again in the “Cybersecurity 500” club and has been named “Best Small Technology Company” in the 2018 Digital DNA Awards.

SaltDNA also in 2018 received the “Innovative Business of the Year” award at the 2018 BEFTA Awards. SaltDNA’s success was evident throughout 2018. – In particular, the company was named the best new entrant in international markets at the Telegraph Trade Awards, where it was shortlisted for three national technology awards.

SaltDNA is determined to continue this upward trend. In the first quarter of 2019, the company has already completed its largest commercial project and is on course to achieve a record result this year.

on services

SaltDNA offers a secure mobile communication system that ensures maximum confidentiality and optimizes enterprise productivity with the following features and functionality:

1. accountability and compliance. Complete and centralized control over communications, providing the ability to analyze accountability for employee actions and achieve compliance with internal and external security regulations.

2 Safe cooperation. Conference calls and a group messaging feature allow teams to work on sensitive matters in complete security and confidentiality.

3. secure transmission of audio and files. Instantly access and send confidential documentation and information on the move/run in real time.

4 Reports and analysis. Ability to monitor individual data and quality of communication usage

5 Conference calls. Conference function for 15 simultaneous participants at any time. All VoIP calls are encrypted and secure in any region. The highest level of voice quality.

6 Centralized management. Ability to provide and disable service immediately, from anywhere in the world.

7 Closed contact groups. Authorized contacts are part of a closed group in the SaltDNA application and are not associated with the device’s personal contacts.

8 Encrypted voice and text. All communication on mobile devices and computers is secure and confidential (private).

9 Implementation options. The system is available as a hosted service or as an installation on the local network infrastructure.

10. message broadcasting/sending/propagation. Send live alerts to large groups of users in the organization. The feature allows organizations to send messages, share photos, documents, alert messages as well as assign a level of importance to an alert.

In summary SaltDNA guarantees confidentiality of communications (data transfer, audio, etc…) End-to-End (between users) using encryption, etc…. The main advantage of the system is, among other things. is that only the owner has full control over the system and data transfer, i.e., the data is not recorded or saved anywhere (e.g., on intermediate operator devices, etc…). The solution is ideal in an environment where confidential communication and information sharing between users is required/necessary

innovation of the solution

SaltDNA is the first company to offer a solution for encrypted communication between users’ devices while providing centralized control over enterprise communications. SaltDNA Enterprise is the best tool on the market that will provide, among other things. protection of trade secrets, confidential exchange of strategic, proprietary and sensitive data between users – in any enterprise.
The SaltDNA solution offers deployment flexibility and a robust encryption framework in the context of mobile usability. Comprehensive control functions make the goal of strengthening the company’s security level effortless.

SaltDNA offers a range of deployment options (that are not offered by competitors) for organizations. The SaltDNA Enterprise solution is available as a hosted cloud service or as a local installation within a private infrastructure. Companies have flexible choices at their disposal, in the context of SaltDNA installation depending on their needs.
While the list of features is constantly improving, SaltDNA currently offers many features often not available on the market, such as:

1. secure transmission and archiving of the contents of text messages and voice calls
2. file/image transfer and “burn”/delete communication history function, i.e.. the message can be deleted from both devices (sender and receiver) by either party regardless of where it came from
3. closed user groups
4 Central management and supervision and 24/7 support.

In 2018, SaltDNA developed a function for securely handling video and audio attachments. With this feature, users can securely send audio and video attachments via messages to their contacts from a cell phone or computer. SaltDNA has also developed a secure messaging feature that allows customers to send alerts to large groups of users in the organization in real time. A new broadcast/messaging function allows organizations to share images and documents, as well as to assign alert severity levels (different alert tones for different severity levels).

The expansion plans also put SaltDNA ahead of competitors such as Signal, Silent Circle and TigerText. SaltDNA has many advantages/differences from its competitors, both technically and functionally. Most of SaltDNA’s competitors operate in the consumer market, offering secure communications for consumer use only. SaltDNA deals exclusively with enterprises and builds features and technologies for this market. A key differentiator is that SaltDNA provides organizations with control over who talks to whom in their company. SaltDNA provides a secure management system to give companies full control over communications and all employee contact lists. By facilitating communication management, it makes it easier to handle closed user groups.

SaltDNA uses open, publicly verifiable, cryptographic libraries. The company’s engineers have developed the strongest levels of encryption, and the code transferred over any network communication infrastructure has been checked by a consortium of the world’s best cryptographic minds. The open source libraries and protocols on which SaltDNA is based include the following security features:

(a) TLS “Transport Layer Security” for encrypted connections
(b) Messages encrypted using the Axolotl secure protocol (key exchange using the Diffie-Hellman protocol and hash proof (HMAC) function). OLM message encryption – using ephemeral key exchange.
(c) Signaling and configuration of voice calls using “pinned” TLS connections. Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) is used, which ensures the privacy of communications over a secure signaling channel. DTLS eliminates the risk of: modification, eavesdropping or message tampering.
(d) SRTP – secure real-time transport protocol for peer to peer voice calls

Control and view information

The enterprise needs tight centralized control of users, the ability to instantly provision or delete users, and reporting capabilities. Only authorized users can communicate on the secure encrypted network, greatly reducing the risk that it will be used for malicious intent. And the contacts are closed, limited to authorized users in the app, i.e. you can't establish communication with the device's contacts.

Accountability and compliance

The enterprise solution gives you full control over which data is stored and which data is deleted. This is one of the most important and desirable features that does not exist in free messaging apps. This is critical for communications compliance in regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, law enforcement or security services, where communications must be secure, and recorded/recorded for accountability purposes in the context of liability

Enterprise functions and deployment flexibility

Secure conference calls and group chats, secure image transfer and storage, improved call quality and LDAP integration enable secure enterprise-wide collaboration, not just one-to-one communication. In addition, enterprises want flexibility so that they can deploy their solution as a hosted service or be able to install it on their own infrastructure depending on business requirements.
