Application

Controlled file transfer with content protection

MetaDefender Managed File Transfer combines transfer automation with file-security controls. The process can include encryption, permissions, supervisor approval, operation logging and content inspection.

This approach helps organise data exchange between employees, partners, applications and IT/OT segments, including environments with different trust levels.

Key capabilities

Transfer policies

Rules can define who may send a file, where it can go and under which conditions.

Security inspection

A transfer can include multiscanning, Deep CDR, DLP and other content-assessment mechanisms.

Audit trail

A record of operations, decisions and exceptions supports oversight and incident investigation.

The integration, policy and inspection scope is selected for the process and deployment model.

From sending to secure receipt

An example for a file transferred between two organisational zones.

  1. Create the transfer

The sender selects the recipient, file and transfer conditions according to policy.

  2. Inspect the file

The file is checked before it is made available to the recipient or target system.

  3. Approve or block

The inspection result and process rules determine whether the data can move further.

  4. Deliver and record

The recipient receives the file and the operation leaves a trace for authorised staff.

Typical use cases

Partner exchange

A controlled channel replaces ad-hoc sharing of sensitive files by email or public services.

IT–OT transfer

Files can move between zones while retaining inspection, approval and audit controls.

Process automation

Rules and schedules reduce manual transfer between systems.

Fit the existing workflow

The project starts with a map of sources, recipients, file types and exceptions. We then define permission levels, required approvals and error handling.

We also review integrations with protocols, repositories, cloud platforms, SIEM systems and applications that use APIs.

RAMS DATA

Organise sensitive file transfer

We will review the current exchange channels and propose policies that reduce risk without blocking necessary business processes.

  • Map data sources and recipients.
  • Define inspection and approval rules.
  • Plan audit, monitoring and maintenance.
